Day 1 (Part 2)
"Is anyone else hungry?" someone asked.
Everyone raise their hands. They're especially hungry after setting their tents up.
"Chansung go find us food." Taecyeon pointed at the maknae then at the greens behind them.
Wooyoung shook his head. "I don't think that's such a good idea."
"He'll probably eat it all before he gets back," Nichkhun laughed.
"Then I'll go with him," Taecyeon volunteered.
Junho waved his hand in objection. "That'll be worst."
"Okay, I know." Junsu suddenly took charge of the situation. "You two can go if you guys promise not to eat any of the food you find before coming back."
"Sure, no problem," Taecyeon agreed with a wide grin, which made what he said less believable.
"Otherwise, we just eat one of you two for dinner," Junsu said seriously, but eventually laughed at what he just said.
"What!?" Chansung's voice went up high with wide eyes.
"Come on Chansung," Taecyeon smacked the other on the back, who almost lost his balance from the force. "Before they decide to eat you." He laughed.
Chansung punched Taecyeon on the arm in reciprocation before they both ventured into the trees and bushes.
"Junho-ah! You're coming with me," Junsu shouted even though the other was just standing five feet away.
Junho jumped in surprise and turned to Junsu. "Uh, for what?"
"We're going fishing," Junsu said excitedly, clapping his hands and rubbing them together.
Wooyoung hopped over to his hyung. "Oh, I want to go too!" And started jumping hyperly.
Nichkhun, who had been watching this little scene, pulled the other to his side. "Wooyoung, stay. We need to make the fire."
Junsu snapped his fingers. "Good idea! So we can cook our tuna."
Junho smirked. "You really have a thing for tuna, don't you?" (FYI: In an interview Junsu said he liked tuna sashimi a lot and his favorite Japanese food is Ootoro = 'marbled tuna')
"I'm thirsty," Taecyeon whined, batting away leaves and branches as they went deeper into the greens. "Maybe we should find water first. Since people can survive a week without food. But we'll die in three days without water."
"Hey, Taecyeon! I found food," Chansung shouted in the distance.
Taecyeon followed the echo of Chansung's voice behind a veil of veins and found the maknae cradling a bunch of banana's in his arms. Somehow this doesn't surprise him. "I just found a gorilla."
Chansung blinked. "Where?" Looking left and right while still hugging the bundle of bananas tightly in his arms.
Taecyeon stretched an arm out at Chansung. "Right in front of me."
The giant maknae pulled a banana and threw it at the other giant then walked off. While Taecyeon picked up the banana from the ground, dust it off on his pant leg, peeled it, and took a big bite out of it with an equally big grin.
Junsu rolled up his sleeves and pant legs before walking into the water. "Okay, let's do this."
Junho did the same in suit while splashing some water on his legs first to get use to the cool sea water. "How are we suppose to catch anything without fishing poles."
"Oh, yea." Junsu paused for a second. "Okay, new plan," he announced loudly even though it was only the two of them. "We'll do this Daegu-style."
Junho tried not to laugh at his hyung accent that slipped out. "What's that?"
"We're gonna catch them with our bare hands," Junsu said, making grabby hands.
"Seriously?" Junho's mouth fell open in disbelief. "I don't even see any fishes."
"What you talking about? There's a fish that just swam right pass you." Junsu pointed at the water below their knees.
Junho looked down at the water turning his head left and right. "Where?"
"There's another one." Junsu pointed out in the water between them.
Junho scanned the waters again and threw his hands up in the air. "Where? I can't see anything."
Junsu laughed at the frustration on the other's face. "That's what you get for having small eyes."
Junho frowned looking down at the water. Then suddenly he shouted, "Big fish!"
"Where?" Junsu looked to where Junho was pointing in the water.
"There," the other said excitedly, practically jumping.
Junsu had his head down searching, then out of nowhere there was a hand, a big splash of water in his face and laughing. He spitted out some water and his wiped his face with hem of shirt and shot a dangerous stare at his attacker. "YOU! Lee Junho!"
Junho starts off running which leads to Junsu chasing him around the water in circles for a bit until his hyung's knee started aching.
"Aish, what's wrong with these sticks?" Wooyoung wrinkled his forehead and brow while he's crouched over a pile of twigs and branches as he tried to rub two sticks together to start a fire.
While Nichkhun was crouched behind the other laughing.
Wooyoung turned his head to look at the other. "Quit laughing." He pouted his lips. "I don't see you starting any fires."
Nichkhun chuckled. "You said you wanted to start the fire." A big grin appearing on his face. "And it's just so cute watching you try." He wanted to pet the other on the head too but decides not to.
"I should have went fishing with Junsu and Junho," Wooyoung mopes, rubbing the two sticks vigorously again.
Nichkhun's face fell the second Wooyoung said Junsu's name. He shoved his hands in his pockets and took out a small matchbook. "Here, I got matches."
Wooyoung snagged it right out of the other's hand. "You had these the whole time!?" In a blink of an eye a fire was started. "Why do you have matches in your pocket anyway?" he asked Nichkhun.
"Yesterday was my friend's birthday and I was the one who went to get the candles and of course I need to get the matches too." Nichkhun picked up a couple more twigs from the side and threw it in the fire, which grew.
Wooyoung sat in front of fire. "Was it a girl?"
Nichkhun took a spot beside him. "Yea, why?"
Wooyoung watched the fire. "I thought so."
Junho stuck a peeled banana on a long stick and held it over the fire like the rest of his bandmates were doing. "I can't believe we're eating bananas for dinner."
Taecyeon took his caramelized banana out of the fire and poked at it with his finger and almost burned himself. So he decided to wait a bit before taking a bite. "I can't believe you guys didn't even catch one fish."
On cue both Junsu and Junho looked away and up at the starry night sky while they chomped on their so-called dinner.
"Fire, fire, fire!" Wooyoung shouted, as he tried to put out the his flaming banana-on-a-stick by waving it in the air.
Nichkhun readily grabbed the stick from Wooyoung and tossed it into the fire. Then gave the other his already perfectly caramelized banana in return.
"Thanks," Wooyoung accepted it softly with a smile.
"Taec, Taecyeon, Taecyeon-hyung." Chansung was whining and nudging the guy sleeping beside him in the same sleeping bag.
"What?" Taecyeon groaned in his deeper than usual sleepy voice.
"I'm still hungry," Chansung whimpered like a child.
Taecyeon's only response to that was a low growl as he turned his back to the maknae.
"I'm hungry," Chansung said again. Frustrated he stared at the back of his hyung who ignored him. Leaning in close his eyes landed on a bare broad lean shoulder. Tempted, he went in closer and sank his teeth in.
"OWW!" The howl came out of none other then Ok Taecyeon.
Junsu's snoring was driving Junho crazy. He had a small pillow (part of the sleeping bag set) in hand ready to attack, but took a deep breath and decided against it. He laid back down again and shut his eyes only to open them again when he heard a snorting snore.
Junho looked at Junsu at the corner of eye, who he could clearly see thanks to the fire still burning outside the tents. The other was flat on his back, mouth partly open, eyes not completely closed, and arms over his head. Junho shook his head in disapproval, turning to his side, back facing the other and tried to fall asleep once more.
Suddenly the snoring stopped. Junho turned around and was met face to face Junsu's slumbering one. Quiet, peaceful, gentle, vulnerable. It was a rare sight to see and Junho couldn't look away. But the moment passed when the snoring began again. Junho immediately rolled away and shook his head of any pleasant thoughts of Junsu.
Nichkhun was staring up at their tent unable to sleep. He sighed and turned to his side hoping a different position might help. So he closed his eyes waiting for sleep to claim him.
Sleep didn't came. Instead something really warm attached itself to his back. Nichkhun turned his head and found Wooyoung curled up against him. The other was already asleep.
So adorable, Nichkhun thought as he took one of the boy's arms and wrapped it around his torso. As he felt Wooyoung breath tickle the back of his neck, Nichkhun smiled and slowly drifted away.
